If You Were A Necklace….

At one of my old jobs I was asked to pick three words to describe myself, and I said something generic like “energetic, outgoing, friendly”. I recently made this necklace, and before I even finished putting it together I knew it would be a piece that represents me.

Now that I have had more time to think about my three words, I pick “bubbly, creative, nomad”. This necklace speaks to all three with the hot pink star burst brooch (1950′s Vendome) for bubbly, African beads that represent the restless world traveler in me, and creativity that came out the second I laid eyes on this brooch and saw the picture of what the final necklace would look like. You can also see pics of me wearing the necklace at Austin Fashion Week on the Facebook page.

Some jewelry pieces just speak to you, and some even pick you instead of other way around. Here are a couple of fall one of a kind pieces that will be making their way to the online store later today.

Russian Princess Necklace

Opera Necklace (I imagine this necklace with a black strapless gown)

The Liger Necklace (tiger’s eye stones with vintage lion buckle)

If you were a necklace, what would it look like?

Fall Collection Has Arrived

We are really excited to introduce our fall collection, Paris. As the name suggests, this collection was inspired by my recent trip to Paris.

I fell in love with the effortless classic style of Parisian women. The neutral color palette of their wardrobes inspired me to create simple and sophisticated yet modern pieces. The stars of this collection are rough diamonds in ivory, chocolate, grey and black. I worked with sterling silver and gold filled chains to create pieces that represent luxury at affordable prices. Check out the results here!

Spring Color Pairings

Those who know me will tell you that I do not shy away from color. I love bold prints, color blocking, florals and often use my jewelry to complement, pull out or contrast the colors of my outfit. Here are a couple of my Spring favorites paired with the new collection pieces.

1. Tucker Panel Mini Dress, $400 + Vancouver Necklace, $225 – Coral pink and turquoise happen to be one of my favorite color combinations for spring/summer. This combo makes you think of a tropical vacation, and what better to pair with this fun and flirty Tucker dress than our turquoise fringe necklace.

2. Twenty8Twelve Dress, $268 + Norwegian Fjords Necklace, $225 – This dress is currently my front runner for the perfect summer casual maxi dress. Although mixing light green quartz, metallic pyrite and the purplish pink of his dress is not the first color combination you’d think of, but they work wonders together. Add a skinny brown leather belt and sandals and you’ll have a hip boho look.

3. Ports 1961 Melange Silk Dress, $995 + England Necklace, $225 – England necklace looks great with a simple white tee (actually wearing it today!). It will also be a wonderful statement piece for bridesmaids and more formal occasions. This Ports 1961 dress is stunning, and our England mixed pearls and amethyst necklace follows the same color story while adding a little extra bling to the look.

4. 3.1 Phillip Lim Layered SIlk Dress, $550 + Eilat Necklace, $225 – The coral of the Eilat necklace looks best when paired with olive greens and greys. The simple muted colors allow for corals to be the star of the outfit and really stand out. The cut and style of this dress are perfect for our statement necklace, and we need it in our closet!

5. Kain Label Leni Tee, $88 + Baltic Necklace, $225 – Of course the Baltic Necklace is a great dress up piece, but we love it most with a simple grey tee. Seriously! The grey in the stones works well with simple grey jersey, while bright lemon colored amber stones stand out and bring some color to the whole outfit. Baltic necklace brings an instant dose of hip and cool to any outfit.

6. Corey Lynn Calter Dress, $99.95 + Altea Necklace, $225 – This dress is one of my favorite Corey Lynn Calter dresses, and the lapis from our Altea necklace pulls out the blues from the print and complements the rest of the dress very nicely. Print tops and dresses can be challenging to pair with jewelry. Your first instinct will be to use a simple long gold necklace. I would recommend picking just one color from the print and building your color story around it.

As always, feel free to ask questions and jewelry styling advice!
